I treasure old books. Worn leather, beautiful paper, and vellum. As our messengers from the past, lovingly passed from hand to hand, mind to soul, books hold the memories of who we are. Its a shame then, to see old, well fingered, dog eared and loved tomes discarded. Instead, I give them a new life in art by using collage techniques to combine books, paper, book bindings, text, and images into mixed media art collages. There is a depth and beauty in the craftsmanship, patina and the marks of humans hands in these antique volumes. Our primal senses can appreciate the old and the loved.
